Meet Jan Segal
A self-proclaimed “people person,” there is no one who has met our top chef that didn’t instantly love her. Her warmth, authenticity, hard work ethic, and passion for good chocolate, expertly makes its way into each truffle she bakes. Thousands of children and their families embraced Jan’s singing, dancing, nurturing, and unmatched patience during her thirty-five-year career as a Kindergarten teacher. When she said goodbye to her classroom (with bittersweet tears) to take care of her grandchildren, she relished in the new opportunity to pass down her “eat dessert first” philosophy. After all, life is short. The head baker at the Champagne Truffle Co. exemplifies the art of self-care through baking with chocolate for her children and grandchildren. The truffles made by The Champagne Truffle Co. represent the value our family places on traditions and making the most of our one short and sweet life. To most she is Jan, to her loving husband she is Jani, to a very select few, she is “Ammy.” I get to call her mom.
